Discussion on the formula of TPU shoe adhesive
The composition of TPU adhesive formula is shown in as below:

In terms of formula design, the main focus is on two major requirements: how to balance the initial adhesion force and bonding time. Room temperature adhesive is a type of adhesive that is designed separately. As for weather resistance, it is solved by selecting (cyclic) aliphatic diisocyanates and additives.
Classification and selection of TPU adhesive particles.
TPU shoe adhesives are classified according to their uses and different production methods, as shown in Table 1. The classification of adhesive particles is:
A: Excellent initial adhesion force, suitable for continuous production lines with particularly high shoe type and material tension
B: Excellent initial adhesion, suitable for general continuous production lines
C: (At room temperature) can adhere for a long time and is suitable for short-term heating before processing or bonding at room temperature
D: Good solubility, high solid content, suitable for porous materials
Conclusion
The TPU industry, such as foam, synthetic leather, shoe materials, and adhesives, is a new industry, and with the increasing demand for environmental protection, PVC is gradually being banned. Apart from its high price, PU is the best alternative. PU shoe adhesive combined with TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) manufacturing technology has developed shoe adhesive granules. The production of adhesive particles for shoes is just one of the many applications of TPU. Other PU resins that currently exist in solvent form can be considered to be replaced with TPU, which can reduce the risk of transportation and is more conducive to marketing in the world (such as synthetic board fabrics, substrates, breathable waterproof resins, nylon fabric coating processing, etc.).
